Furnace Rebuilds
McLaughlin Furnace Group rebuilds all types of furnaces, and is the largest rebuilder of furnaces in the United States.Most furnaces are rebuilt on-sight in our brand new, state-of-art manufacturing facility in Avilla, IN.
Our process is simple. We begin the process by stripping the unit down to its shell. Next, the unit is sandblasted down to bare metal. Warped metal is straightened or replaced, and cracks are repaired & reinforced. The lining is re-bricked including proprietary hearth and door lintel designs. The combustion system is upgraded with fuel efficient burners and state-of-art controls. Door and elevator mechanicals are upgraded with rugged, yet easy to maintain systems.
With years of experience, McLaughlin knows the weaknesses and typical failure modes of most furnaces. When rebuilding the furnace, many items are reinforced for longer life. Many components are upgraded to modern, more robust designs. When complete, the rebuilt furnace is better than when it was first built.
Vacuum Pump Rebuilds
McLaughlin Furnace Group rebuilds a wide range of pumps regardless of the manufacturer.
We rebuild the majority of pumps from the ground up in our state-of-art manufacturing facility located in Avilla, Indiana.
Pumps are cleaned and sealed. Broken components are fixed or replaced, and cracks are repaired & reinforced. The lining is tested for leaks and quality seal.

McLaughlin Furnace Group is much more than the maintenance and repair shop it began as in 2007. In the beginning, McLaughlin Services only offered complete furnace rebuilds, including structural fabrication, refractory, piping, rigging, mechanical assembly, electrical, and controls.
But it didn’t take long for the Avilla, Ind., company to branch out. Shortly after opening its doors, McLaughlin Services started fabrication of car-bottom, temper and atmosphere furnaces, and support equipment. Since then, this MTI Silver Member has started supplying custom flow panels and piping as well as custom, easily expandable endothermic generators.
Additional services offered include rigging, transportation, tear-outs, structural fabrication, piping (atmosphere and fuel gas), mechanical assembly (including pneumatic, hydraulic, and power transmission), electrical wiring (power control and thermocouple), and controls (panel building and installation). The scale of service varies from individual component replacement to complete furnace removal and rebuilding. Furnaces can be upgraded to meet current standards and converted from electric to gas. State-of-the-art pulse-fired burners can also be installed on your existing furnace(s).
